Welcome to the Vienna Conducting Academy (VCA)

Located in Vienna, the city of music, the Vienna Conducting Academy (VCA) offers comprehensive training for conductors of all levels, whether aspiring to hone their skills, prepare for competitions, or embark on a professional career. Led by Prof. Boris Perrenoud, a seasoned conductor with extensive experience in both Asia and Vienna's esteemed Music Academy, the VCA provides invaluable insights and practical experience essential for success in the demanding world of conducting.

Requirements:

Music course: Under 15 years (out of organisationstatus)

Preparatory study: 15 years and older

Main study: 16 years and older

Application:

Apply online before the application deadline. The applicant will receive an invitation to the admission exam at a convenient date and will have to pay the examination fee.

Examination:
 
  • Theoretical part

-

Scales (major - minor)

    
    - Hearing Test    
    - Rhythmic dictation    
           
 
  • Practical part
        
            For instrumentalists: - A technical piece (Etude)    
    - At least 2-3 pieces from different periods (baroque, classicism, romanticism, modern) that match the current level of the candidate.    
            For singers: - 3 pieces (songs, arias, oratorios) of free choice, solo or with piano accompaniment for a minimum duration of 15 minutes.    

Diploma

The participants will recieve a diploma

Examination

The completion of the finals examination is done with the collaboration of our partner institution. CSM Galica.

Tuition Fee

Application fee: € 190.- after acceptation 

€ 530.- Euro per month.
